WORKSHOP
The Esfinge Foundry was created in the sixties by the sculptor José Luís Fernández and his brother Enrique Fernández, both from Asturias, Spain.
Since then, they have been carrying out all type of jobs related with sculpture in a great array of materials, dominating several scales, from monuments to things as precise as jewelry. Thanks to the researches of Enrique Fernández, Esfinge has become one of the most relevant foundries in Europe.
One of the items that can be found in the workshop is a small museum that exhibits some of the most relevant works of the sculptor José Luís Fernández.
Among his biggest achievements is crafting the Spain's main national annual film award, Goya Awards or Premios Goya. The award itself is a small bronze bust of Francisco de Goya created in 1990.
